“Thanks to the Reference Rhythm method and 10 over 7, I was suddenly able to hear and feel 7/8 time in a new way. Soon the superimposed rhythm became like a new subdivision, just like triplets or sixteenth notes. The good thing was that when I played in 7/8 time with the ‘new subdivision’, it felt much more organic and there was a whole new flow. It’s fascinating to hear the difference in sound between the superimposed layer and the triplet layer. The superimposed layer is more alive!”
